This has to be one of the most serene, most beautiful and friendly hotel we have stayed in. This is a converted 14th century monastery, with the original church still in use, for the locals in town. And set in the most stunning of locations, with a large car park, attached for convenience. Located within walking distance to the ancient city of Siena. The grounds were beautiful to stroll around in the sunshine, with private, seating areas dotted around, should you want them. There were covered seating areas by the pool or full loungers to take advantage of the pool and sunshine. In the courtyard, there are comfy tables and chairs adorned with pelargoniums in full bloom. Everywhere, there were beautiful flowers and the scent of the lemon and orange blossom! Inside, were lavish sitting rooms, with overstuffed sofas to relax in, any time of the day or evening. Drinks are served beautifully, with bowls of salted almonds and olives, coffees, with delicate, petit fours. We had a large room with a huge marble bathroom, with everything you needed, including robes and slippers.the views from our first floor room was of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The staff were very eloquent and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted at breakfast with lovely staff, ready to help in any way. Continental breakfast is included, with hot toasted breads and fresh pastries, served to you at the table. I would love to come back here again, one day. It really is special!
